I have now tried Ned's Hack on the SxS and it does not work. The EX1 does not recognize the card. It knows a card in in the slot but does not recognize it.

You're safer using the 16GB SanDisk Ulta II 15MB/s SDHC with the Kensington expresscard reader. These are a bit faster than the transcend and work great in all HQ modes on the EX1 and EX3.

Note: S&Q mode will not work with the kensington and SDHC combo.
Also, the EX1 memory door will not close with the combo inserted. The EX3 door will close.

Ned may be a genius, but did he actually try this hack?

The SD card he suggests has a write rate of 13 mbs, the Sony s x s card's transfer rate is 800 mbs. Am I comparing them correctly? What does the camera output?

First, Ned is a genius. Not sure if the SxS card hack for the Sony EX1 and EX3 is his idea or not, but that's for sharing anyway. Going with the "maybe proprietary is better" thought, Sandisk has a Sandisk SDAD109A11 Digital Media Memory Card to Express Slot Adapter for about $17.00.
Has anyone tried 16Gb cards. This is too good an idea not to try.
